This is true I guess. I'm more upset with Clouston about some of his decisions that he makes mid game. Last year he seemed to be really good at making mid game adjustments. This year he has seriously struggled in that department.

He's also not using certain players the right way and therefore he isn't getting the most out of a couple players. He needs to start actually rewarding players who are playing hard and sit down those who are not. He did this last year, he's not doing it this year for whatever reason.

Check out these comments by Karlsson about the officiating in this game. I think it's safe to say he's about to get fined by the league.

I thought the officials were bad today, but I also thought the non-call on the potential Conner interference of Fisher was justified. In real time on the ice, it probably appeared as just a chance collision. Conner was moving from one end of the ice to the other, Fisher was moving up the slot. The collided. Fisher went down, Conner didn't. Now I think if Conner were running intentional interference for Goligoski and not just shifting positions on the ice, he would have come from the other direction or tied up Fisher a little more. Regardless, good call or bad (probably bad, but kind of justifiably bad) Fisher should have gotten up and found the puck, as opposed to throwing his hands up at the referee. Goligoski skated right behind him en route to his goal while Fisher was looking at the referee. Play then complain.

I think you've gotta call it when the Sens are already down a man. Incidental or not, it still impeded Fisher's ability to get over to Goligoski and it allowed Gogo to walk right down on Leclaire. The refs even said the only reason they didn't call it was because they didn't see it and I don't know how the fuck you could not see it. I hate the whole incidental thing. I accidently tripped the guy so therefore it shouldn't be a penalty. See how that works?

Not a chance. As the defensive player in that situation, Fisher is entitled to that ice. If Conner is "careless" enough to run into him he goes to the box.

And there is no way that was unintentional. Conner didn't mean to get THAT much of Fisher, but he wanted to slow him up.

Either way it is interference.

Meh.... shit happens but that was a terrible non-call. The refs were horrible yesterday and it hurt the Sens big time. The first goal was on the Karlsson "penalty", when Cooke should have probably still have been serving 5.

The second goal was the result of the rare double penalty on one player on one shift, followed by a terrible non-call.

That's two games out of Ottawa's last 5 that they have been brutalized by the refs. It'll hopefully even out for them later this year.

On a positive note it was a treat to watch some amazing goaltending yesterday. If these two teams get that kind of goaltending they'll both be fine, awful officiating aside. :p

The one thing about the Sens is that one thing is always a little off. Don't you find that kenny? Leclaire has been extremely solid the last 3 games and the team can't score a goal to save it's life. When the goalies struggle then they start scoring or the defense is brutal and they score lots of goals.

I guess that's why they're such a streaky team though. There's not much consistency from the guys. Hopefully they can have a good stretch from now until Christmas though. They kind of need to at this point.

I still do feel like a goal scoring forward might have to be brought in. Spezza needs to play with somebody who can finish that's not older then 37.

I agree. They just seem to have one little thing go wrong. When they put it right they are a top 4 team in the conference, as evidenced by their streak a couple of weeks ago.

Even if there's no trade some of the young guys need to start finishing more consistently <cough> FOLIGNO <cough>.

Very true. I'd like to see Regin get going scoring wise too. Kind of like he did at the end of last year and in the playoffs. But at least he's playing solid defensively unlike Foligno.

If Foligno doesn't pick it up soon then don't be surprised if you see him dealt. He still has some potential but he just hasn't seemed to be able to find his game with the Sens so far.
