this det game is perfect... there are dozen reasons why LA is a much better matchup:

1. La played 6 games against a physical Blues team (finished a day after chi) so they played an extra game and have a day shorter rest.

2. travel is tough. LA is barely a road game. Chicago is multiple time zones and a long flight.

3. 0-3 vs. chicago and truly dominated. 2-2 vs. LA and all but one game is very close.

4. if LA went vs. Ana, both would have zero travel and wouldnt be that tired out with basically 2+ weeks at home. a LA-san series has little travel and a chi-det doesnt either, wo it's not disadvantge for SJ.

5. Chi is clearly the class act of the league, you never know if the wings can beat em and then the sharks match up very well vs. the wings should it get there...

6. If the wings win, then it leaves a team that htey could have home field against in the WCF.

7. The sharks will not be intimidated by LA as they could vs. chi. As such, they will show up and play with heart. Thats easier to do than against a team that has dominated you.

8. The sharks have a good PO history vs. las sith their win a few years back. As such, the sharks know they can beat LA.

dont feel like continuing, but to me, LA is a vastly better matchup, so... I cant believe Im writing this, but.... Lets. Go. Red. Wings.

I feel it's a tossup of a series. Sharks will have to be playing at their best. I hope the layoff doesn't cool off Pavs, Couture, Patty. LA will try their best to lay the body. Sutter style hockey.

With Havlat out LA is probably the better match up for the Sharks. Not liking the Chi/Det series though. Zero travel and what should be a cake walk of a series for the Hawks doesn't bode well for the Sharks should the get past LA.

That was a bummer for sure - but at least they were in the game. WTF happened with Washington? That looked.. EMBARRASSING. No effort, major mistakes everywhere - my only conclusion is that there were a lot of side bets and they tossed the game. There is no other rational explanation for the giant rotten egg they left spinning in the middle of the ice.
