David Mayo is the sure starter. There is no competition in 2023 for his spot.

Kendall Fuller has a near zero chance of not starting in 2023…unless they cut him.

Cosmi has been a possibility to not start all offseason. Another possibility is Cosmi remains outside and Wylie moves inside but nobody says anything about that.

Gibson was always going to be the receiving back. Nothing has changed.

I understand the ranking…it is quite a ways off but I understand it. If given the reins, SH will be better than every rookie, Desmond Ridder, Baker Mayfield, Kenny Pickett, Jordan Love, Tua (because he will not last this season and retire), Justin Fields, Daniel Jones, Geno Smith (last year was a fluke), and Brock Purdy.

When Sam had his guys had UNC he was a star. Plus, when you factor in his height scouts downgraded him and the subpar last year he had at UNC. Now fast forward to this year when B. Young goes #1 overall and he is shorter and weighs less than Sam. Go figure.

I suggest you not compare Bryce Young and Sam Howell again. There is no comparison and you sound as if you have never watched a college football game.
How is it that Drake Maye started as a Redshirt Freshman (one year) and put up better numbers than Howell did in 3 years (each year) as a starter?
Do you know who Drake Maye is? I am guessing you don't watch college football?

im comparing the size factor. It was a reason on why Howell dropped in the draft.

I like Sam howell but drake maye looks to be much better. Maye looks special and a future star in the nfl. Mayes next season will be huge and he will be compared to Caleb williams all season long. It will be fun watching williams and maye.

"
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
  • Howell enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in January 2019. He won an open competition to become the Tar Heels ' starting quarter Hback. He became the first true freshman at the school to win the starting quarterback job in his first year."
Sam Howell - Wikipedia

Drake Maye

"Coming into his true freshman season third on the depth chart, Maye played little in 2021. He redshirted, appearing in four games over the course of the season, the maximum amount allowed for players desiring to keep their redshirt. When starter Sam Howell was injured and unable to play against Wofford,"

I am not putting down Maye. Just pointing out Howell had a better freshman year than Maye. :D I liked Howell coming out and we'll see about Maye. He has a good HC, same as Howell did. I can't speak for others but I do watch some college football.
