On a trip to San Antonio around 2005, there were street artists doing this sort of art. Ended up buying one of the prints. Pretty cool stuff.

The funny thing is Eric Stoltz was slated to be Marty McFly, but he was so intense on the set and driving the other actors crazy that he got fired and was replaced by Michael J. Fox.

they filmed 25% of the movie with Stoltz and and I saw an interview that he said he didn't feel right about the roll and him and the Director agreed to move on to another actor. MJF was doing Family Ties at the time and filmed between the TV show and the movie for 20 hours a day. I believe Stoltz got full payment for the first movie but nothing for the sequels.

On some of the behind the scenes about Back to the Future they talk about some of the shots that made it into the final cut, mostly ones from a distance or off angle, that are still Eric Stoltz. Apparently they felt that some of the B roll with Stoltz was good enough to avoid having to reshoot everything on a tighter timeline with Fox.

I think Ben would have been fine. He's going at the uncomfortable stuff.

It's hard to fully imagine anyone but MJF in that role though.

I like Stoltz and always thought he'd be around more. Always working, but not real high profile stuff.
