Perhaps very minor comic spoilers, not sure I'd call them spoilers but you have been warned.

That's kind of how she is in the comics. It works well there. She is also relatively fucked up and often angry and silent so they got that part right. When she was introduced she got to do a lot more than scowl right away, that probably helped her character. I love the way she was introduced at the end of last year, but after that she really hasnt been given anything to do. I'll be patient though, its only been 2 episodes. I expect her to be more interesting as they give her more to do.

I agree about it being pretty cool the way she was introduced at the end of last season. But then they flash-forward from that to 7 or 8 months later. That's fine for the main group but I wish they found a way to devote a little more time to her and Andrea getting to know 1 another. Why was she in those woods somewhat close to the farm in the 1st place? I think she may need a flashback or something. I'm interested to find out who her 2 walkers were. I wonder if she'll look for replacements if/when she leaves Woodbury.

I don't like the idea of dropping a katana-wielding, ass kicking badass into a show that has established its characters as everyday men and women, it would be severely out of place. I don't know how they will use her, but I'm not liking what I'm seeing at all. The nightmare scenario is her being a "badass and kewl" character who belongs in a comic book or video game instead of a tv show.

As far as the baby...

'Walking Dead' Spoilers Lori and T-Dog Die - Hollywood Reporter'Walking Dead' Spoilers Lori and T-Dog Die - Hollywood Reporter

Mazzara: We'll see in the next episode -- That baby is very important. We'll see that the group steps up because there's been enough death and it becomes a mission for everyone, particularly Daryl who steps into a leadership position as Rick is dealing with this trauma. It becomes important for the entire group to keep that baby alive; that baby needs to live and how do you possibly feed a newborn in the middle of a decrepit prison.

Fuck that overly sentimental, uninspired bullshit! I already suffered through the Sophia debacle, I won't make it through another "save the child" soap opera. The only way this can get worse is if the baby turns out to be the cure, or if they kill Daryl.

I did think it showed her character well when she didn't hesitate to behead her minions by the helicopter.
her perma-scowl is getting to be a bit much, but where the story is now, she's got a reason for it.
besides, she looks good in those jeans.

Perhaps minor comic spoilers.

While they are different things the tone of the series and the comic are the same. Its a bleak black and white comic that is often sad in addition to being scary and exciting. Its not a over the top super hero comic. If anything the TV show is lighter than the comic. Michonne is not a super hero or anything, she is a regular person (lawyer I believe) who knows how to use a sword and who got fucked up and hardened by the first weeks of the outbreak.

I anxiously look forward to her reaching a breaking point and seeing her break out the sword and see no reason why how she was/is used in the comic (which I like) will not work in the series.

Well if it's upto Carl (and it very well could be) the baby's name will be Sophia, unless he's changed his mind since the farm days.

Anyone else think Lori might not be dead?

If Carl did shoot her, I wonder what he said before he did it...
"This is what you get for being a deceitful whore...mom!" (bang)

I think zombie Lori might still be alive but the Lori I would never want to meet is likely a goner. Looked like Carl and Maggie pretty much wrote her off before the baby was even pulled out. My understanding is women never survived that procedure centuries ago before modern medicine made it safe. If she did survive somehow then she probably wouldn't last too long without any help.

I'm intersted to see what's up with Carol. I thought for sure she was dead since zombies were eating fresh meat and it didn't look like T-Dog, plus they found her cancer patient outfit (no disrespect intended but that's what she reminded me of). Rick and Daryl aren't known for giving up on someone so quickly unless they are sure. But then I read somewhere that the writers said we don't know for sure about Carol at this point, which most likely means she's not dead. So if that wasn't Carol they were munching on, then who was it?

Still think whoever was watching her practicing the c section on the zombie is going to find her. Whether or not that person is good or bad I don't know. I don't think it was Andrew though. Carol is still alive, unfortunately.

this conversation reminds me of when in The Phantom Menace Darth Maul was killed off by Obi Wan. all the fan boys were... what if hes alive for the next movie

Um he was cut in half dudes get over it (I dont care they brought him back with bionic legs in the cartoons)

Lori is dead. didnt need to see it. she died very quickly after her gut was cut open. she was already bleeding out from the pregnancy issue before they did that. Carls eyes told me everything. and man that was the first time Ive seen that Kid actor actually perform

Nah I generally pass out by then. Is it any good? I feel like I watched it once and they hint at too many things. I like going into each episode knowing next to nothing.

yeah its not bad. sometimes a little goofy but you get some inside info on why something was done and when it was done or a little more character background. I enjoy it except when they put guys like Wil Wheaton on it then its a bit fan boyish Id recommend watching one online to see if you do like it a bit. they talked a bit about Lori last week.

Because this board is slow and I'm bored as shit at work, let's say a zombie apocalypse does break out, what would you guess will be the cause?

A: Lab experiment gone wrong
B: Radiation/Nuclear fallout
C: It will occur naturally
D: Other (explain the possibilities)

Solanum, of course.
I guess that's a vote for C

also, I just found out that Max Brooks is the son of Mel Brooks and Ann Bancroft.

The odds have to be pretty high for A. Science gone wrong, like rabies, AIDS, and the flu all combining into some unstoppable virus. I like the possibilities of D though, like a meteor carrying some super space flu, or the occult is a fun one. Zombies are the greatest.

I've heard a number of interviews with him and he is a very intelligent individual, much like his father. He really uses zombies as a way of breaking down society and figuring out why/how people think the way they do. Speaking of which, World War Z the movie is going to suck. If they had just stuck with the book it would have been awesome.
