I agree the group probably wouldn't have gotten as far if Shane was still around, however in terms of controlling the situation with the inmates last night it wouldn't hurt to have another tough guy former cop on hand.

Maybe it's just the way the storylines play out, or maybe it's because it was such a huge ratings success last year and now has a bigger budget, but I think there have been more zombies in the first 2 episodes than all of last year combined. Also, T Dogg lines have increased about 3000%.

I think Shane created more chaos that he controlled. that and I think that he would have killed everyone in the group except Lori and Carl just for them to survive. he would sacrifice anyone for that. I think Rick is more for the group as a whole. I still cant believe he locked out that prisoner in the closed yard with those zombies. man that is fucked. he is really getting cold...

too bad they lost the big guy - he coulda been a good character.

idk ... but I think Id be a little cynical of other strange people in a post apocalypse world lol ... especially if they were dressed in prison garb

And often times people that are in prison can be complete animals. The prisoners are just as weary of the new group of people, they may have followed the dirtbag leader of their own group just because they were scared and didn't know what else to think. And I would 100% anticipate that type of guy in a prison. Some people just need to be the alpha male and don't like anybody telling them what to do.

fixed that for you...

the dirt bag leader (Tomas) had the only gun by the looks of it. but after the riot and what was going down. I cant see them really caring for anything but survival. I figured Tomas would get killed quickly... didnt think THAT quickly... but it was awesome nonetheless.

I think alpha males would be ok for the group ... socio/psychopaths like Razor Ramon... probably not so much

yep. but he makes cold decisions faster now. before it was... I dont know I have to think about killing this kid on the farm. now its. tell me why you should live (if not part of the group)

Seemed like a loose cannon. Can't have jumpy, unpredictable dopes jeopardizing the situation. Is that the last we've seen of them or do they make another appearance? Felt kind of bad for the older drug addict prisoner.

Yes I think that is correct. I think they wanted you to think the cross was for Hershal but my guess is that it will be for Carol.

Yeah I could see that too. I was thinking last night that they sort of seem to be setting Lori up to die. Her character seems to be redeeming herself somewhat and seems to be trying to get back with Rick but without any luck. Rick doesn't seem to hate her or love her. Carl seems a bit short on patience for her too. I loved how Rick told her "We're all really greatful for what you did." It's like they are just 2 members of a larger group now and they manag to get along, no more and no less. It certainly would change the dynamics of the group if she died but then again so would a baby, so I'm not sure if she would die before or after the baby.

I still think Carol is a goner though. I thought the cross might be hers because she seems to be more religious than Lori, not that crosses are exclusive to the extremely religious. I was thinking Carol could be an early to mid season death and then Lori would be the shocking death for the season finale.
