OT - The State Mottos

Interesting artwork incorporating the state mottos.

Thought it was kind of cool and had never heard a bunch of them before. A few of them are kinda funny...
"Labor conquers All things" - Oklahoma
"Manly deeds, womanly words" - Maryland
"To the stars through difficulty" - Kansas

My favorite is still "Live Free or Die" from New Hampshire.

I don't know. Maybe that was a license plate or a tourism campaign. There are the "official" mottos allegedly, which may be different from ad campaigns or state names that people are more familiar with. A quick look at the list on wiki shows the are mostly from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Oh and to be inclusive, the Canadian province mottos as well.

Prince Edward Island - "The small under the protection of the great" (geesh, talk about a submissive motto)

Do you know why FL's motto is "In God We Trust"? Because for most of the people who live here, at this stage in their life, they don't have much choice anymore.
