Text in White has possible Spoilers, so don't read if you don't want to know.

The last hour and a half saved the movie because the first hour or so was really lacking.

Overall they tried to once again provide some sort of background on each character in case someone didn't watch all of the individual movies, and some of it just seemed lazy and rushed. I know it's hard to take so many characters and give them equal roles in the same movie, but the Hulk and Tony Stark made the movie imo.

Pretty much Black Widow and Hawkeye were useless in the movie, and they really didn't have a leg to stand on in the movie compared to the othres. I also thought the plot was a bit weak and rehashed as well.

And how the hell does Thor get back to earth so easily when in his own movie the bridge to Earth was destroyed? Am I wrong?

Still liked the movie over all, but I'm not sold on what others are saying when they say it was the best thing they've ever seen.

best ever no? not by a long shot. The Dark Knight still is #1 for a "hero/comic" movie. was it fun and outstanding for sure. a little too much on that ship to be sure but it served its purpose to bring in the group together for a future Avengers.

I agree on Hawkeye and Widow. I was actually surprised they were able to include them in anything significant and not turn it into a waste. it was better than I was expecting for them. and Im glad only one scissors kick from Widow. seemed to be her only move for a while...

Hulk and Stark were the entertainment for sure.

Especially Hulk in Starks building. loved that.

I disagree IPW, I had a hunch that Hawkeye and Black Widow were going to be the wild cards in determining how awesome the movie was going to be, and I thought both of them were done really well. I only have a few really minor complains. 1) Thor was underpowered, but I suppose it made the movie better. 2) Cap's costume was way cooler in his first movie. 3) I thought it was kind of silly that the aircraft was falling from the sky, yet nobody inside seemed to be feeling any sort of effects from it.

That's really just nitpicking though. As a lifelong comic book fan, I thought it was amazing. Great characters, dialogue, villain, action. Almost flawless. The only bummer is knowing that a Justice League movie seems to be so far out of reach at the moment, which is what I really would like to see.

I don't know, I guess I was just expecting more, and got caught up in the hype?

The movie just seemed to be missing something, and the whole alien invasion of mindless minions just seemed kind of "safe", but it was at least good for lots of destruction and smashing while not actually "killing" anyone.

I also was bothered by the whole scene when they were calling Black Widow to come in, and also the scene where Black Widow was sent to pick up Bruce Banner.

But like I said, still a good movie to watch overall.

there was a script for the Justice League and it was supposed to be very dark and very heavy. just didn't move forward without a following

Other than Batman and now maybe Green Lantern, the other heroes just didn't have the movie money to make it go forward

Superman Returns did not make a ton and now they are moving to Superman Man of Steel (looks promising)

no other JAL member has had a sniff at a movie or introduction so I can't see it taking. Avengers may push that with its success. I for one would LOVE to see it.

Justice League of America vs Hall of Doom

Well Batman would need a reboot to be in a JLA movie. Nolan is done with the series and has been very adamant about the Batman movies being in a Batman-only, no supernatural stuff taking place sort of universe anyway. The Green Lantern movie was very disappointing but has potential to build upon. I have high hopes for Zack Snyder's Superman. The main thing that really needs to be established is the Flash and Wonder Woman. Martian Manhunter could be introduced in one of the other movies or in the JLA movie itself, and Aquaman doesn't really need to be there.

The Green Lantern movie was very disappointing.

Wait, you mean you didn't enjoy the part of the movie where he got 5 minutes of training with the ring, but was able to beat the bad guy by himself, even though it easily killed a bunch of the top Green Lanterns at one time?

Also the fact that he continued to summon with his ring weapons from WWII?

i loved the way that was done. very cool. did you see the second part to it?

I haven't watched it yet, all I know is that time travel comes into play, and Lex needs help from Batman, Superman, and the rest of them?

Yeah it was a steaming hot mess. I could go on for a good while about everything that was wrong with that movie. However, I thought Ryan Reynolds did a good job as Hal Jordan all things considered, they were at least somewhat able to establish the history of the GLC, the guardians, and Planet OA, and they sort of laid the groundwork for the Sinestro Corps War. If the sequel is placed in more competent hands, the franchise could still be very promising. The GL mythos has been almost entirely revamped in the last few years by Geoff Johns, and has been my favorite book to follow since. They should just have him write the next script.

I liked The Avengers a lot, not that I was expecting a lot. I thought it had good dialogue and was better written than most comic book movies. They actually made Hulk fun. I loved the extra scene after the credits. Funny. Basically I thought it was good silly fun.

I do not know the Iron Man comics but I actually liked that movie better than The Dark Knight. I liked that but didn't think it was anything great. I actually thought Batman Begins kind of sucked. I do like Nolan and think the third looks good.

Also a plus for this movie, no origin stories. The solo movies took care of that so they did not have to slow things down for those.

Movie was awesome, but then again above all I'm a hug Thor fan and I feel like this movie did him some justice. He matched the Hulk more or less, showed his mythological routes in protecting midgaurd and showed his strong conviction to his asgaurdian family.

I did feel they made the Hulk too much like a gorilla in the way he moved, but he had his own amazing moments. Cap and Iron man were 2nd tier and Widow and Hawkeye brought up the rear, but that's just how the avengers are honestly.

I suggest seeing it and staying till the end as the 2 easter eggs are well worth the wait.

Enjoy the movie.

Edit: It was also kinda aweseom cause it was a Joss Wheadon flick, dude does good work developing an "enviroment".

Thanks to that passage right there I am a little more optimistic. I'll be catching this soon. I was disappointed with the Thor movie.
