Oh, by the way, you can rent a SuperSuite at the Bell Centre for one game for the low low price of $4000 - They can accomodate up to 20 people, so if my math is correct, that's $200 per head. Only issue is that they have a 5 year waiting list.

I've been debating a trip to Montreal for awhile now, sell me on this place. What were some of the highlights?

Canada's most interesting city even though it's in decline now. Lived there for several years and still love going back.

Great food in every price range.

Fantastic night life.

Great history. The old port is a must see for visitors from anywhere in North America.

Nice museums. Musee des Beaux Arts is a nice gallery.

The Biodome is fun too.

Old Montreal is really neat with the classic cobblestones streets and European architecture, the subway (Metro) makes it very easy to get around town, I took a tour of McGill University (it was one of the few Canadian universities that made Harvard_Oiler's list of acceptable secondary educational institutions) and it's very cool, saw Stade Saputo where the Impact play, and visited the Bell Centre. The Habs Hall of Fame at the Bell Centre is very neat and would you believe front and centre when you first walk in is a Damphousse jersey (it brought a smile to my face).

Yup, I did the arena tour, could not go into the Habs dressing room, but we do go into the alumni lounge and media centre which was pretty neat.

I'm going to Montreal for the first time at the end of August. I'll either come back with pics of the Habs dressing room or a jail cell.

Wish me luck.

In the Habs Hall of Fame, they have a replica dressing room of the Habs dynasty team from 76-79 - I was tempted to sneak out a Rick Chartraw jersey (I mean, who would miss it?)

Great town with a few shitty people who ruin it for the rest of them.

I like Quebec City, and the folks there have always been very nice.

Couldn't remember his name. Wasn't he the genius that predicted one of those sad Oiler teams from, well this millennium, was going to 450 goals in a season or some such absurdity?

We are all Habs now?

:noidea:

lol - Oh I still don't care for the Habs, but you have to respect that team's history and championship pedigree.

/It was funny on the tour of the Bell Centre, there was a old coot who was obviously a Maple Leafs fan and he was arguing that Maple Leaf Gardens was the cathedral of hockey. I almost had to break up a skirmish between the old geezer and the tour guide.

410 goals was the figure - They did reach that number, but it took two seasons (lol)

LOL. Went to games in both rinks and actually got to get in to the Habs dressing room at one point after a game.

Maple Leaf Gardens was awesome though. I really couldn't say which of those old rinks I preferred but for the history (Richard riots, so many Cups, etc.) the Forum has to take the title of the mecca of hockey.

So you asking me to go to Habsfest with you was some kind of cruel joke?

I forgot Dash was in Montreal last week and before opening this thread thought...

'Oh, the Habs traded for Dennis Wideman?' ;)

That is the first thing I thought too. I wondered who was traded.
