Crying baby prompts tennis player's tantrum The Orange County Register

This guy was losing his match and a baby in the stands started crying....so the guy whacks a ball towards the kid...what do you think? Bad guy or should the kid not have been there in the first place?

- if you can't control your spawn at an event that requires quiet, you shouldn't bring them.
- player could have maybe verbally assaulted the mother instead, or have an usher remove them.

Both. You shouldn't bring any babies/kids to a sporting event where they want you to be quiet during play, but the tennis player is a real dickhead that's for sure.

Eh, it didn't look like he was trying to hit the baby to me..........he just turned and hit the ball into the crowd. Sounds to me like some people trying to make a story more dramatic than it should be............a growing problem in this world

I agree with that, but he shouldn't be hitting the ball into the stands at all. Of course, it's not a particularly dangerous action.

The guy is a professional tennis player, and the commentator said the ball didn't land anywhere near the baby, so I have a feeling he wasn't aiming for it.

I think we also know why he was angry...I mean, if he's a professional, you'd think he land the ball very close to the baby.

Yea........I mean, I've been to some professional tennis matches before..........and what most of us don't see on TV is how the players spend a good 2 minutes hitting balls into the crowd before the match starts......just for fun of course.

The fact that some adult probably caught the damn ball just further proves it really is not a big deal.
