OT Roger Clemens Verdict.

Roger Clemens found Not Guilty On All Counts.

While I personally feel both the trial & the verdict were a joke, because, I feel Clemens, as well as Barry Bonds used PED's.

I hope that this verdict means that the U.S. Government will keep it's nose out of sports.

Not the place for the government to be, in my mind.

Yeah..... read about that outcome in a couple of places.

I'm inclined to agree that the court and the jury got it wrong, based on everything that's been reported in the media. OTOH, we weren't there to hear the testimony, and obviously, those who did (i.e., the jury) saw Clemens as innocent..... and MANY in the media continue to prove over and over again that they're not above reproach in either veracity or integrity.

There seems to be no doubt that Bonds was a user..... the only remaining question is, when did he know it? And I don't think that's much of a question, either. My view is that Bonds did it intentionally and knew what he was doing all along. There are a lot of negative aspects to Bonds' personality, but I don't think being stupid is one of them.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with your comment about the federal government. It's WAY too large, WAY too invasive, and spends WAY too much time and money messing with stuff that it shouldn't be involved in.

By the way, I don't think a post about the Clemens verdict is OT (although our commentary about the government probably is).

The only thing I meant by OT is that this of course, is a Pirates message board & Clemens, having never played for us, thus made the post not Pirates related.

I hope we get some more comments from a few other posters though, it would be interesting to know how others feel about the Clemens verdict.

local law enforcement needs to determine crimes.
our govt is the most inefficient agency, but has unlimited budget so has to find some way to spend it.
clemens used. he should fess up and clear his conscience. america likes to give second chances.
the truth is always best for short and especially long term sanity.

I agree with most, I do believe Clemens is guilty of taking steroids, but I thought the whole investigation/trial was a joke, and a waste of taxpayer money.
