The New York Times is reporting that U.S. federal authorities have decided to indict Roger Clemens on charges of perjury

Maybe they should also talk to Mindy McCready to add on some other charges...

i like how one person put it.

Sure...perjury is a crime, but so is making a bunch of baseball players testify before court using tax payers dollars.

the MLB could've taken care of this on their own you know...they just don't have the balls to do it.

Pun intended :)

I agree that the higher-ups at MLB knew something was going on and did nothing until called on the carpet, that said, it's always best to come clean especially in front of a grand jury. America (and Americans in general) are great at forgiveness and second chances (look no further than Mark McGwire).

hahahah, yes...mostly intended.
that's what i mean though about the higher ups. they had the ability to do something about this, and just chose not to. it's simple, be honest to the public about the steroid issue, make EVERY player at EVERY level take the SAME test for drugs and PUNISH those who fail the testing. it's not that hard!!

Speaking of balls, i just read Joe Torre's book "The Yankee Years" and was a good read.

Before starts Clemens used to have McNamee rub the hottest liniment he could find on his balls before he took the mound to get him psyched to pitch.

Get the fuck out of here, no job is worth that no matter what you make.

Back on topic, the higher ups knew exactly what was going on. But the Sosa-McGwire spectacle brought the MLB so much attention they turned a blind eye to it.

Roger Clemens is an asshole. That being said, the Government has put us 14-15 trillion in debt and yet they are spending its time on...baseball. There are so many things wrong with that that I don't even know where to begin.

word. i mean, sure it's fine for them to be indicting him NOW because it's perjury...that's a crime. HOWEVER, why the heck were they ever involved? it's BASEBALL people and the drugs were only illegal in that realm...in the eyes of the nations judicial system, they had done nothing wrong. so why the heck did it matter? ugh. 'merica.

I was a linesman during a Jr. game. While breaking up a fight in the first period, one of the players fell and he kicked me in the thigh. I had a pro game the next night and the trainer of the pro team, who happened to be at the game, came into our dressing room to check on me. He rubbed down my thigh with an Analgesic Balm and told me to be careful pulling up my underwear. Well, I wasn't careful enough. Talk about pain. My crotch was burning up. I don't know how I survived the rest of the game. If Clemens did that before every start, he truly was Superman.

I agree. Look even just at Clemens' friend and teammate Andy Pettitte. He admitted to HGH use, and no one even cares anymore. The guy is still pitching at a high level and making tons of money.

If there was one person who it was worth spending tax money on to get a perjury charge out of it was definitely Roger Clemens. Asshole doesn't even come close to describing the guy. I love it that he's getting indicted.

Anabolic steroids, HGH, and a bunch of other PEDs are illegal in the United States without prescription from a medical doctor.

I liked this guy at one point...

For some reason I could never stand the guy...he always came across as super cocky...and weird...remember when he was pitching to Mike Piazza and Piazza's bat broke in half....Clemens picked up the splintered bat and threw it at Piazza....what the fuck?...
