OT: Remembering the Heroes

Day early thread to honor the fallen heroes. It's more than a day to take off work and barbeque.

To my Uncle Michael "Butch" Wanda. Veitnam. Victim of Agent Orange, not even form a fucking bad guy's bullet.

To my wifes Grandfather William Anahu. Shot down in the south Pacific in WW II.

To All others who lost a loved one.
To All others who have fallen in battle serving a nation they loved.
To All other who will do so in the future.
Thank you for your service. Thank you for the freedoms I enjoy every day.

If you see a serviceman in a restaurant, pick up his or her check.
Say thank you any way we can.

My great uncle served in the Army Engineering Corp. In Europe during WWII. His detachment was called to reinforce during the Battle of the Bulge even though very few of his men had more than basic training. His foxhole took a direct hit from enemy artillery during the battle, and he was never found.

Head tilted low. Seeing the old timers in uniform at the local parade...ya the one that lasts 8 mins max. Love when the entire town cheers and claps for them when the walk by.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^That's what my dad did in the South Pacific during WWII. R.I.P. dad. My 2 brothers served as did multiple nephews. Thank you to all the fallen and surviving servicemen and women for your duty to our country.
