OT: Question on screen names.

Recently I found out a poster on this board posted at the swamp under a different screen name and never made the connecting. I think I have most of them down now but would you mind sharing the information so others don't run into the same situation? It's not something you need to do but useful information to some of us.

On another topic I was curios do posters mind being called by their "real" name? Just a curious question because I know some people are protective of their privacy.

My screen name has always been BOSSMANPC and as most of you know my real name is Steve. I think we have a few Steve's roaming around here.:smile:

The 26 attached is because others have stole his name and is the day of the month I was born on. Voltaire26 is the screen name I used on ESPN's message board (which kinda sucks).

My real name is Bruce and if you call me that I will answer - I do like Voltaire however, but my mother won't let me change it (I'm 53 years old dammit, married grandfather and still scared of my 84 year old mother).

My internet story. Bruce, Voltaire, Volt or Dumbass ... I answer to them all.

As for real name. I am somewhat uncomfortable posting that because I work for a professional sports team and do not want anything coming back to bite me in the ass at some point. I am not weird about giving out my name...Just do not want ir having any effect on my job is all

I must be really naive or somethng, never realized how crazy people get over confidentialty. And my name isn't really James, I was just checking to see if anyone bit onto that, but nope... I've been called "blindbaby" for about 30 years. When I played soccer, I used to do the Blind Melon Chitlin character constantly on road trips. The name truly stuck when at a tournament, I switched my real name for Blind Melon Chitlin, on the line up sheet. It truly was classic when the P.A. announcer at the game introduced the starting line up as - "starting in goal for Campbell River........ Blind Melon Chitlin"????? After that, the name stuck, and now you know.

Yeah, for career reasons, I try to limit that as well. I don't divulge that outside of a PM and it's generally good practice to not give out personal information in public Internet forums. It'd be fairly easy to find a highly offensive post from just about anyone on here when context is taken away.
