I thought it was Samba Soccer, not Stand Still Soccer...

Brazil could have won the competition with a win or a draw. The U.S. opened the scoring in just the seventh minute, but Brazil equalized in the 16th. From there, it was all bad news for Brazil. After going down 2-1, they were shown their first red card in the 38th minute. They continued to fight for a comeback, but the second red came in the 86th minute, after Brazil had already gone down 4-1, and that proved too much for them to take.

Down to nine men, the Brazilians just stood still, refusing to move as the U.S. casually passed the ball around in their own half. They did this for a couple of minutes before finally just standing on the ball, turning the match into a bizarre staring contest. It was clear that neither side would move, so the referee decided to end the match 30 seconds shy of the 90th minute. The U.S. then celebrated their victory and Brazil trudged off without any further incident.

A phone call from Canadian hip-hop star Drake helped sell England and Spurs striker Jermain Defoe on Toronto FC, according to England’s Daily Mirror.

The tabloid reports Defoe was “bowled over” by the call from Drake, who was unveiled in September as the Toronto Raptors’ “global ambassador.”

Toronto FC and the Raptors are both owned by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

The MLS club has yet to confirm Defoe’s sdigning in the January transfer window. But privately club officials consider it a done deal.

The Mirror says the 31-year-old Defoe has been offered a deal worth 90,000 pounds a week (C$155,310) as well as unlimited flights for him and his family.

The club will also provide the striker with two houses, according to the paper.

A pretty good match between Arsenal and Chelsea has deteriorated into a diving contest...

I only got to catch the 2nd half, but what a horrible game. As a Reds fan, you're right. That result was perfect. It was good for everyone but Chelsea and Arsenal.

Dont really want to talk Camilo since he is under contract with the Caps and it sounds like the Mexican team owner jumped the gun and thought he wasnt under contract ... if they are trying to force a transfer ... well ... thats international football ... vancouver peeps need to realize this is how this shady world operates

anyhoo ... onwards and upwards imo ... a 3.5 million transfer fee for a guy they dug up from the Korean league will fund the residency program for 2 years

and if this guy is who the caps are looking at as a replacement ... bring it on dammit!!!

unbelievable tekkers ... Davide Chiumiento on roids
