Did Italy forget to pay the ref off against Japan?

Maybe one of the worst penalty calls I've ever seen and furthermore,the ref showed his incompetence by issuing a penalty for a Buffon takle as last man back but then doesn't then even card him. If that is a penalty, then it has to be a red card too. Baffling.

I don't think I've ever seen a "bad" soccer match end with a scoreline of 4 to 3 - they are always memorable

I thin the Italian PK shouldn't have counted, and I'm not even talking about the call. When the player did the stutter step on the shot, it caused one of his teammates to run into the box prior to him touching the ball.

Granted, he'd probably have netted the rekick, but whatever.

Nah, I only tuned in at the start of the second. Heard the "foul" there was pretty lame as well though.
