This recent proposal by the owners has got me excited that we might see some NHL hockey soon. But I stopped for a second and wanted to smack myself for being such a sucker. Twice now in the last seven years we have missed hockey games because of these douches. What am I getting so excited for? So I can waste my money on gear and tickets and parking and honey nut cheerios and beer and nachos?

I think for the most part, a lot of guys and gals on this board are similar in their love of hockey. I'm sure most of us spend plenty of money on it and attend at least a few games a year. So I wanted to get your thoughts on the following question: Did the NHL piss you off enough to withhold any of your support? Or are you running back begging for them to take your money?

Sadly, I am running back to throw my money at them. I just love the live atmosphere of the NHL too much.

Also :pizza: for the Cheerios reference.

And even if the world doesnt end, our already seemingly probable meeting in the 1st round (Damn Rangers) will end humanity as we know it.

Yep F the Rangers.....And just think when the Pens and Flyers meet in the first round they will play without goalies to keep it low scoring.

They should really do it the good 'ol street hockey way, go for the posts. For even less scoring, you gotta call which post.

Would be a pretty defensive oriented series, but a true battle none the less.

I canceled center ice a few weeks ago. Of course, if they get this show on the road, I'm sure I will be suckered in to adding it back on to my bill.

If the entire season goes the way of the last lockout, I will have a hard time spending my money on the product. Still would watch it on tv, but it would take a while before I'd go spend money at a live game. I just can't support something directly with my hard earned money that doesn't give a shit about there customers.

I have and will always love hockey. I'll cheer on my Flyers, I may buy a jersey of my favorite player(B. Schenn) and I'd go to a game if the tickets are free, but after this mess I don't intend to buy a single ticket to a live game for a long while. I don't have to pay any extra for a cable of internet package so that isn't an issue for me personally. This whole thing is ridiculous and totally unnessecary....

Nothing has changed for me, but I don't live in an NHL market to begin with so I never spent any money in the first place.

Same here. I get to a game every 2-3 years. I had no concrete plans to do so this year. If something comes up, I'm still as likely to go as I otherwise would be.

i wish i could withhold my money...but like others mentioned above, the closest nhl game to me is 6 hours away so i would likely not have gotten to one anyways. unfortunately, if i lived in an NHL market, i likely would not change my spending because i love the sport too much to take a moral stand against the dumbass lockout.

I won't be spending any extra money on the NHL. I will still watch some games because the Sharks channel is already a part of my TV package, but it has changed for me.

I used to drive 3 hours each way (sometimes on work nights) to catch Sharks games. Once a year I would get a hotel room and make a whole weekend of it. I bought merchandise, memorabilia, and video games. Between work and school I spent a lot of my free time following the NHL. But the league and players association have shown that they could care less about the loyalty of their fans.

I love the sport of hockey. I will continue playing pickup roller hockey. I will continue to watch hockey when I can. I will root for my country and get swept up in the drama of a game. It is a great sport. But if the current ownership and players think that they are going to keep getting my time and money after another lockout, they can kiss my hairy white ass.

Im not buying tickets ... Im done ... I usually would be buying tickets to 3 games per season ... I will probably get at least 2 free games to go to this season from work but thats it ... and Im not buying concessions when i go ... ill be under the viaduct outside Costco drinking out of a bag and eating my $1.50 hotdog pregame (or is it $1.99 ... i forget)

Ill continue to watch on tv and thankfully I dont have a people meter so the NHL wont be profiting on my viewership with advertisers

I'll watch, so I guess technically I'm adding something, but I will not be attending any games this year. I had season tickets, gave those up, and now I just don't feel the need to give up my money for people that really couldn't care less.
