GameStop.

Last year, I bought an Xbox Series S for my office. Kid at counter asked if I wanted to save 20%. Not being learning impaired, I said yes. I would like to save money. Apparently, he signed me up for some membership and used the signup bonus to save me money on the purchase. He put in my email address and listed my credit card number in the system and turned on auto renew without telling me any of this. All I know is I paid less than I thought I was.

Cut to a month ago, I get an email from Game Stop thanking me for auto-renewing my membership. I go online, have to create an account, and look and see they charged my card. I call them, and their front end message after pressing 2 for membership issues gives tips on how to turn off auto renewal, and that they can't can't help if you have already filed a dispute with your credit card company. So that means this is obviously a very big problem.

Through the calls to them, they told me 3 different times that they have processed the refund, which twice never showed up and once showed as a refund of 0.00 from a store in Allen Texas. Every time I called, I got the same BS that it must be my bank. Well, I worked for "my bank" for 13 years and not only know the system, but also the card fraud guys really well. Finally decide I've had enough and tell them to chargeback to GameStop. Because that not only will get action, but will cost the GameStop and extra 15 bucks and at a certain threshold, they get reviewed for PCI DSS standards and may lose the ability to process credit card payments. Downside is I have to cancel and reissue my debit card which is a PITA. This was Monday. Yesterday, I get an email from their customer support that asks if my issue was resolved at which point I told them to pound sand and I initiated a chargeback.

GameStop issued me a refund this morning. Bitch, that's all you had to do a month ago.

I hate seeing news clips where the photos are all marked "This is a model, not the actual subject." I look at the picture and it's a dog, or even worse it's an animation, not even a living creature.

Appliances that fail after 7 years and are not cost effective to fix and essentially disposable.

Fridge compressor died on 1400 dollar fridge. Would cost 1200 to fix, so guess who is buying a new 1400-1600 dollar fridge?

washer drum died 4 years ago

would have cost $600 to replace

new washing machine (drumless) $400

easy decision there no matter how advanced my old washer was (it did last me 15 years)

9 years ago I thought my dryer died as the heat was done... I called a guy and he said Ill come out and take a look at it but maybe its just dead. the call out is $135...

I said dont want to buy a new dryer so Ill take the chance.

he came over. threw his hand in the compartment at the bottom (after unplugging it of course) and pulled out the heating coil (1000% Anakin Skywalkered) and put in a new coil.... an additional $25 for the part and its been running since.
