kind of neat how the shock of he suicide is just interwoven with daily humdrum of the lives of those affected.
I've always kind of figured what he threw off the bridge was an engagement ring.

I like that theory best.

It's told very matter-of-factly but I get the impression that it has affected the narrator of the story a lot more than she lets on.

And me I spend a lot of time pickin' flowers up on Choctaw Ridge,
and drop 'em in to the muddy water off the Tellahatchie Bridge.

Lots of stuff going on in what appears at first glance to be a fairly simple song. Good stuff.

Just an amazing song. If anyone thinks Floyd is just something to listen to you if you're dosing on acid, give this a listen. Not that they aren't good to listen to on acid... but there's more depth to them than that.
