Any word on whether or not Hardy of the USA has been DISQUALIFIED from the Decathalon? He stepped on the line of another lane in the 400 meters. Any team can protest & if they do he will lose the 900 points he got from his time in the event.

I've got to be honest, I'm sick & tired of NBC showing Beach Volleyball in prime time. There are so many other events they could show instead. Heck they don't even show the diving in it's entirety.

May-Treanor is one of the smartest hitters I've ever seen. Juliana from Brazil is up there, too, but that pair are headcases, which limits her effectiveness.

I still prefer court. It's much more nuanced.

Sinjin Smith, Randy Stoklos were kings of the beach for years. Probably the best beach volleyball team in the history of the game. Kent Steffes & Karch Kiraly came along & kicked butt for quite awhile too.

I've played both and I prefer court as well. For some reason, it makes more sense to me. It feels like it has more flow.

Plus, playing on a beach offers too much distraction.

How the heck did BMX become an Olympic sport? They should have chosen Speedway racing instead. It's huge in Europe & very popular in the States. I remember guys like Alan Christian, Sam Ermolenko, Danny Becker, Gene Woods, Kelly Moran amongst others when I was a kid going to Costa Mesa Speedway at the O.C. fairgrounds. It could also be a Winter Olympics sport because they race on Ice too!!

but I'm 100% against any sort of motorized vehicles in the Olympics. It's supposed to be about humans competing against humans. Granted, I'm not saying whoever has the best bike in motorcross has a guaranteed victory, but you cannot deny that the machine is more important than any tool in any current Olympic sport (save the horse in equestrian, but fuck that too). We can't start having man on bike action - think of the Chick-Fil-A owners!

(Actually, I'm less concerned about Speedway and more concerned about how it's a gateway to car racing, which would be far worse, but do you see my point, even if you disagree, Bolts?)
