Download CCleaner from here ccleaner

install & run this.
Select Analyze and will read through drive and tell you what & much will be deleted. It will clear temp internet files & a whole bunch of other crap.

seconded

I use that all the time. The registry clean up works well. AND lets you save the registry clean up as a back up ... just in case....

Bottom line is, a 30 GB hard drive just isn't big enough nowadays

my work system is 80GB and it killing me. Don't have enough free space to do a proper rescue and recovery back up (ThinkPad), so not able to take advantage of one button recovery if I need it.

On the plus side... my brand new high speed T410 will be deployed within the next couple of weeks.
I can hear all my processing and memory intensive applications giggling with anticipation! :D

ha! extremely true.
But since it is a standardized deployment, I'll be damn happy to get i5-520, which is most likely.

Still, miles ahead of the 3 generation old system I'm currently using!
Will feel like a superfast workstation in comparison.

honestly, you really can't tell the difference IMO between i5 and i7. having 8 gigs of RAM and 1gig of VRAM is like heaven!!!
