Can't say I didn't see this one coming.
Yeah, Tressel was fired. One of those "Resign gracefully or get fired" things.
I, for one, was surprised he was ousted. But then again I'm a Wolverine fan and have certain expectations when it comes to Buckeyes.
in 20 words or less:
who is tressel, and what did he do?

He got caught doing what every other coach in NCAA Football does.

It's been fun living here through this. Not sure who is worse, the locals who think he's a God and getting a raw deal or the fans of other programs who think it's not happening to them.
The guy seemed like a douche, clearly lied and deserved to be punished. But moreso, the asshole QB needs to get taught a serious lesson. Just last night the f'er was photographed driving a 350Z with temp tags on it (from the same dealer). Now he's just going to bail on his senior season and declare for the draft. And someone will take him. Murderers, drug dealers and thugs get deals all the time. They won't bat an eye at a douchenozzle who can't follow rules, even after they get caught.
He may be doing what a lot of other NCAA coaches do, but most NCAA coaches don't write books called "Doing It The Right Way" and act like they are the patron saint of honesty and character.
I don't understand why anyone is surprised about this. Tressel had problems with the NCAA while he was the head coach at Youngstown St. He's not the squeaky clean guy the media has portrayed him to be.
I don't think many people are surprised, but the level of hypocrisy is pretty staggering.
Even in football?
I mean Ray Lewis recently said that he is concerned that violent crime will increase if there's no football season. The hypocrisy there hurt me physically.
It goes with the territory.
