OT: it's that time of year again - who hates cancer?

I think we all agree... we all hate cancer, and hate it even more when it is affecting children.

Lets kick cancer in the teeth, shall we? Let's beat it with a lead pipe and leave it in a gutter. Lets shoot it in the kneecap with an arrow. Lets.. wellllll... you get the point.


I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!

Nice to bring this up in a post! The wife and I do a lot for childhood cancer fundraisers directly with kids and will donate to this organization also! She might have already done stuff with St. Baldrick's, not sure.
I am more of the ok let me know what to do when/where and should probably pay attention more to the details of the organization like she does. I just know the kids we work with directly.

You know it is the sad how little awareness/research is done for childhood cancer until you start to look into it and deal with it. We got involved only because one of our kids they thought had Leukemia (long story short) but after many tests they realized he didn't have Leukemia.

And like most parents you don't want to deal/hear about it until it hits home. Which is also sad, even on my part, but it is the reality for lots of parents.
