Chan did say that defense was the #1 priority going into the bye week. I just hope they can keep it up.

They said Shawne Merriman's injury has hampered him all year and it showed. They decided to just shut it down for the season. He didn't look right out there and it was obvious that something was wrong.

To be fair, no one really expected this team to be good this year. This offseason was about getting more talent, which they've done. Still not enough, though. The Vinny era really raped this team., of both players and draft picks for a long time. People talk about how in the NFL teams can rise quick, and they can...but not if you have no talent on the team, and limited draft picks to get new talent. This will take some time.

Meant to rep you for this, Apache. Confused the posts. Dead on. I expected them to be a 7-9 team this year. After their start, though they might creep a little higher, but injuries have been a good reminder we have no depth. And there will ALWAYS be injuries.

Yep, the injuries seperate the wheat from the chaffe. Good organizations can overcome injuries, or at least fight through them. The lack of depth is really where it shows how bad this organization has been over the last 2 decades.
