Hank but that doesn't mean he is "the Franchise". They are a bit different....just like how Jeter, arguably, is the franchise, but isn't the greatest Yankee ever

I gotta disagree.

Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle are all way more of "the franchise" than Jeter.

As for the Braves, if you're talking about the entire history of the franchise then there is no way Chipper is viewed as the franchise player over Hank Aaron. Aaron is a top 10 all time player in baseball history. That's automatic franchise player status without question, unless you're the Yankees and have a couple in the top 10.

Warren Spahn would be well above Chipper too. As would maybe Eddie Mathews even for big baseball fans.

I'd personally place Maddux and Glavine ahead of him too.

I get what you are saying about not having to be the best, but Chipper is no where near Aaron's level. And when I think of the great Braves teams of the 90s, I think of pitching.
