buccos owned today...for the sellers in the league, i think they're the winners. got a haul for relievers that weren't gonna be around anyway. i'm happy, because this is a sign that we've really turned a corner.

I agree. The best player they gave up was Carasco, and he's a middle reliever, which means his value is inherently low anyway. I'm really intrigued by McDonald and Lambo (the Dotel trade was an absolute steal!), and think Snyder could be at least a marginal upgrade over Doumit, as well as being able to actually play every day, unlike Doumit. They somehow managed to improve the team in the now and for the future. Win!

Now, once Doumit gets healthy, flip him to the White Sox for Edwin Jackson, and it will be freaking Christmas in August!

Jeff Clement was just recalled from AAA Indianapolis today, and in his first at bat back, a pinch hit in the top of the 8th, he crushed a home run. I hope he fixed his swing in the minors, because he's got major pop and if he could contribute some of that power, it would be a huge boost to the Pirates.
