Yup it has been but western European nations (just a coincidence I'm sure that that is where the IOC is headquartered) aren't strong in wrestling.

I thought about that, but wouldn't it be tough for MMA fighters to have consecutive fights? Guys take a beating in that sport. To have 3 or 4 fights in a 2 week span is brutal.

the early UFC events were pretty awesome.
8 or 16 guys bracket up and 3 or 4 fights later, one winner emerges

but yeah, pretty awful to dump wrestling from the Olympics.
in NHL terms, that would be like contracting one of the original six.
at least they still have horse dancing, speed walking and ribbon spinning.

Well, I'll just get a new one this weekend, I suppose. The iron is on its last leg, too. I have to push the cord into the plug in order to keep it on. So I hold it for a few minutes, iron until it cools off, hold it in for a few minutes, etc.

I really should just buy a new one...
