This has actually been a somewhat disappointing season for the Mariners too. They were maybe going to threaten to win 80-85 games. Oakland changed that in a hurry.

At first, I didn't like the trade at all. But the more I think about it, the more I'm glad we traded him. He didn't fit the youth movement, he wasn't hitting or getting on base for us anyways, and he deserves to go to a playoff team. I just wish it was a different one.

Awww, they blew it! haha. Yeah, we'll get there. I just hope they can hold the best record in the NL. The new playoff format gives a HUGE advantage to the #1 seed IMO since the wild card teams have to use their best pitcher in that game and you get a better matchup for most of the 5-game series.

Indeed. Plus if you get to the WS, home field there too. (although you should have it because of your record, not some game that matters jack diddly to the regular season.)
