I like your beard.
Arggggh...blown save from the Hammer. Cutch is due up though. And we've got a tied ball game. Just SOMEONE get on base.
No quit.
And Sutton's proving to be some kind of waiver claim.
They wanted him this winter...just FINALLY got their chance to get their hands on him. That highlight needs to get online. I wanna watch it on loop for hours. His reaction is why baseball is awesome.
The Twins have won five straight.
Does anyone else hear ominous Latin chanting?
The 1960s Super Friends series is a great deal cheesier than I remember it being...
M's were getting 'perfect game'd through 6.
then a couple of hits off of the starter, and they brought in the new pitcher:
single, single, ground out, hit by pitch, walked in a run, aaaand pulled. nice night.
boom, tied up at 4 going into the 9th.
uh oh, spoke too soon.
Orioles crank one in the top o'9 to retake the lead.
I know you were cheering the other way, but the fact Chen got a no decision is a shame. He was great.
Too much significance placed on wins for pitchers, imo. No matter how well you pitch, even if you get 81 strikes in a row, you cannot win the game on pitching alone. It's a defense, not an offense, and quite frankly I'd rather be a pitcher with 20 quality starts and 15 wins than 15 quality starts and 20 wins. Judging a pitcher based on his wins is like judging a goalie on his - it SOUNDS like a good idea but ultimately isn't. It's even worse, since as you saw today, a guy who played stellar can have the rug pulled out from under him by the reliever.
You have valid points, but when a starter pitches as well as Chen did it I still think its a shame he did not get the win.
