I heard about Lacuna Coil because they kept comparing the chick to the one from Evanescence, but she does have a good voice and is pretty hot. I think the song that took off for them was Spellbound?

I came across Nightwish by accident one day, and I fell in love with Tarja. They got a new chick that sings for them, but she has a pretty good voice as well.

Well, as far as power metal goes, check out Dreamland, Iced Earth, Armageddon (very good), Control Denied (older but one of my favorites), Demons & Wizards, Blind Guardian, Mystic Prophecy (is awesome), Sanctuary and Fates Warning.

Nevermore is a friggin awesome band too. They combine power metal with thrash metal.
