That sucks.

We need to talk about this draft thing. I'm actually a bit PISSED about the Lottery now.

The way I see it RNH, Larsson, Huberdeau & Landeskog are going to be off the board. Leaving my team with the choice of Hamilton, Couturier, Strome, Murphy etc.

I don't want Couturier, his skating really concerns me. Hamilton would please a lot of Isles fans to no end. I really don't want to do the DOUGIE whatever the hell it is.

I now have to hope Garth trades down & that's messed up. DAMN YOU Bettman!!

Not sure who will be around when the Pens pick. I hope it is a neurosurgeon

read this earlier wasnt to thrilled with it Fire & Ice

I think Conte gave some good insight about how teams do things. I wouldn't worry to much about the focus on the defenseman or the possibility of a trade. In 2008 Garth pumped up Nikita Filatov before the draft. It was all a smoke screen. He was hoping one of the 4 teams picking ahead of the Isles would take him. When the defenseman Garth wanted wasn't available he traded down. The jury is still out as to whether it was the right decision.

make that 9-0 :D

Maholm is pitching a gem, too. I hope this jump-starts their offense, though, because I can't see this pitching continuing for a whole lot longer. I think Morton and McDonald will keep pitching well all season, but Maholm and Correia will regress to ERAs around 4.

Good to see Tabata drive one and not have it caught. He's been super unlucky over the last few weeks, hitting a lot of balls hard but right at someone. He's been getting some hits lately, so perhaps he's about to go on a hot streak.

10-0 now. :)

They have got to find a way to keep putting the ball in play. Whether or not this hot pitching continues remains to be seen, but if they can't back it up with some runs, it's all for naught.

They've given up the fewest runs in the NLC, so far....

I think they're about to break out of their slump at the plate, player by player. Early on, they were adjusting to a new approach, taking more pitches to draw more walks, which resulted in my strikeouts. So both the walks and the strikeouts were up, and the hits were down.

Now the strikeouts are coming down, the walks are staying up, and the hits should be soon to follow, with the power coming after that.

Who would have thought that Correia would lead the NL in wins at the end of May? Last time the Bucs could claim that was with Jason Schmidt in 1998:dance:

And that's the complete game shutout. Three-hitter for Maholm (two of them infield singles), no walks, and he didn't even throw 100 pitches. Beautiful.

And he's probably only been their fourth-best pitcher. I'd rank them Morton, Maholm, McDonald, Correia so far.
