The generic for Levoxyl is Levothyroxine. I think the difference is really, really slight.

Hopefully its nothing at all. If it turns out to be a thyroid problem its not too big of a deal. In my late 20a when I was told I needed to take a pill every day it bugged me. However I have never noticed any problems from the medicine. Well except for excessive flatulence, pronounced ear growth, and a few voices in my head.

I certainly notice a difference if I *don't* take the thyroid hormones. Other people around me notice a change too.

I do not think I have missed any more than a few doses in the time I have been taking it, never more than one day in a row. Perhaps if I had, I would notice something.

So it can onset at any age, really.
