Eloco and I have said we want the caps to go after Richards. Move semin and maybe schultz and we definitely have the cap room

Yepper! Probably not going to happen, but it should. Don't even need to move Schultz, just Semin. We have $9.4 mil of room now, little left to sign, and guys that could still be traded. I think we should make an offer, just doubt we will, and more importantly, not sure WHY we wouldn't.

And ya know, I still think Semin is on the move. Makes it even more frustrating if he is moved and we don't go after Richards. Let me ask you Eloco, A LOT of people are really hard on Schutlz. Yeah, he didn't have as good of a year last season, but c'mon he's the 2nd best Defensive defenseman on the team. I'm okay with trading him, but I'm not saying ship him off for a bag of pucks. I'd rather have him than a healthy poti.

I'm not one of them. I'm a Schultz lover. Wait, that came out wrong. I see inside of Schultz more than most people. There, that's better.

I think he is still getting better and I don't know if he was playing at 100% this year. Got laid up the first 1/4 of the season and that makes it tough. While big hits from D-men draw the "ooo"s and "ahh"s, Schultz is better at any guy on the team when there is a scrum on the boards, he puts the guy into them, and the guy stays there. And his passing has improved a lot as well. So, I like his size, his contract price, and what he brings. I'd keep him. He's a +86 in 5 years with the Caps, and we both know he wasn't that good his first couple seasons. That's a limited stat, but it's impressive. The losing streak in December was mostly with him out. I think he's the most underrated guy on the team.

I think Poti may be done. He's 34 and his body seems older than that.

Those are my thoughts. :booms:

fun fact of the day:

Tommy Hanson, Braves pitcher who was on the DL for 15 days had 4 wins this month...The Marlins had 5 (2 in the last 2 days)

Ill do one better...The Marlins have the same amount of wins this month as Cliff Lee ;)
