Yeah, yeah. I'm overly hopeful, I know. MLB NEEDS to take action with the big market crap that happens. It's beyond horrible.

Yeah. It's just so lopsided I stopped caring awhile ago. I still go to games from time-to-time, but I'm not passionate about baseball like I used to be. Peter Angelos didn't help. I care more about the Indians and Nats than I do the Orioles these days. Yes, I sly it up in baseball, people.

I'm not sure, but if we assume bad things are going to happen it is easier to accept...

Also It might be because I knew they were going to lose that series when they went down 2-0.

If very little is done this offseason, I will understand what is going on then. The plan would then be to keep the same team basically for most years and hope the stars align one year and we win. Pretty bad plan, but that's the only way I'd see things...

True. But I genuinely thought at the start of the 09-10 season we'd win a Cup that year or this one. This team is SO talented and yet hasn't even been close yet. Piled on top of decades of this stuff, it's so frustrating. 22 playoff trips and ONE year where we won a game in the conference finals or beyond.

I agree it's a pretty bad plan. They don't need to blow it up. But somebody really needs to say "who is the problem here" and make changes to fix it. You can't just say it's bad luck. Make bold moves.

And I'll just say, I love GMGM for what he does as far as drafting an contract negotiations, but he has got to learn when he needs to make a big decision. And a trade at the deadline doesn't really count as a big decision. Make a deal for a marquee player and trade away the ones who are a reason why we haven't made it out of the 2nd round. I was optomistic about this offseason, but not so much anymore. Kinda makes me worry about the future of the team from a managerial standpoint

Yeah, totally agree. You have to make big moves sometimes and they seem hesitant to do that. Arnott was nice, but it's not bringing in Brad Richards. The core of stars here has failed. OV works his ass off and is prolific - needs to stay. Backstrom - paid too much to leave, need to play better, probably will. That leaves Semin and Green. We have too many underacheiving forwards and too many "very good, but not great" D men. The goalies are fine. We need greatness - whether it's adding a shut down guy or a grittier, better winger or center. You gotta find that guy and get rid of one of those two. The window is still open, but it doesn't last forever, and the urgency with the position they are in doesn't seem to be there from mgmt. I think you and I pretty much agree.

And Baseball needs both a floor and a cap

I agree but dont hold your breath. Fans are the only ones who agree.

The most we might see in a few years is a balanced schedule, where everyone plays each other the same amount of times and the top 10 teams in the league make the playoffs. At least thats what the players and owners at least talked about a couple years ago. One of the few times either has came close to admitting that there is a problem.

Cliff Lee threw a SO today...WITH ONLY 3K's! That's not gonna help my K/9 Cliff!

He was awesome with the Tribe... and then left for big market $$. Carmona, Lee, and Sabathia. How did they not win the title a few years back?

Yep. I'll just say one more thing on the matter. If there isn't something, anything that shows they believe something is wrong with the makeup of the team, I will quickly become a critique of GMGM..
