Tie game, J Mac is not finding it. He needs to get back in the zone and start trusting his stuff.

Carlos Lee thought he hit a home run, so he dropped his bat in a way that could be deemed "showing up the pitcher." It hooked foul. On the next pitch, he struck out.

Ah, justice.

I am sure its not fun, but don't you think that experience will help you in the long run? Or is it so simple that it will not?

I mean sure, it helps my knife skills alot but the kitchen I'm working in doesn't really make it easy to work up the ladder. And Since I'm young they are really reluctant to let me do anything else. I'll probably go to a culinary institute in a year or so, or at the very least change kitchens. So it will help my abilities, but not really my position

Oh, and eloco, they made us buy water. It was $7 per bottle, and it was a really hot day, so we dropped probably close to $50 on the stuff. We just didn't eat all day, though.

I went to Oakmont in Pittsburgh, and we didn't really have a plan. We followed some groups, stayed put, walked around to random holes. Eventually, we just watched Tiger and Cabrera, who were battling for the win. Angel pulled it out. It was exciting.

Thanks. I was worried about that. It's so ridiculous. I understand them having a monopoly and wanting to make a profit on beers, merchandise, food, etc. That's a given. They are going to hose you there. But water is a basic necessity. The golf tournament is an all-day affair and some of these happen in brutal heat. It's not only greedy to deny people free water, but it's downright dangerous. That's a shame. $100 a pop should at least get you free water.

I remember that US Open. That's pretty awesome.

Here is the list of banned items. I think an "allowed" items list would have been faster...

Cell phones (including those with photographic capabilities)
CPDAs or other portable email devices
Noise-producing electronic devices (including MP3 players)
Cameras/camcorders (other than Monday through Wednesday for personal, non-commercial use only and without their cases)
Bags larger than 8"x8"x8"
Cases, covers (such as chair or umbrella covers), containers or coolers
Cell phones (including those with photographic capabilities)
Signs, posters or banners
Televisions or radios, unless provided by the USGA
Food or beverages
Containers or coolers
Pets (other than service animals)
Lawn or folding armchairs
Ladders, step-stools or other similar items
Metal-spiked golf shoes
Weapons (regardless of permit, including but not limited to firearms or knives)

He didn't have it all day. He just doesn't seem confident right now. He's go to work in the zone, but in order to do that, he needs to trust his stuff, and he isn't. He's the most talented pitcher on our staff, but he doesn't pitch like it.

Pirates are up 5-3, but they should be up 6-3. The home plate umpire called Jones out at home even though the tag still hasn't been applied...

The second base umpire followed it up by calling an Astro safe at second, even though he was tagged quite clearly well before he got to the base. Fortunately, that one didn't hurt the Pirates.

They're well on their way. No Hanrahan today, though. He's inactive after throwing three games in a row.

Also, Andrew McCutchen's 15-game hitting streak has ended. Even though he has a hit today, Major League Baseball has given an error to Daniel Murphy in a game in the Mets series on what was his lone hit in that game. McCutchen loses a double and 2 RBIs, too.

Yes, they just decided to change the scoring today, nearly a week after the fact.

I'll go to a game when I'm up there and the downward spiral will begin. :(

I honestly don't see that happening. I don't necessarily see them staying in contention all year, but I don't think they're going to have their usual collapse.

Never underestimate the power of my bad luck. :\
