The real funny part is that I know many of us get annoyed when "bigger" sports personalities host hockey games and make analogies to things like football, basketball, etc. And here we are making analogies from soccer to hockey. hahaha!

I dont mind soccer and hockey analogies, because they are both very similar.

I know, it's just an observation. I was the first to be guilty of it. But yeah, the two are more similar than any other major team sport.

While I love that the U.S. is winning, and I respect women's sports... I really can not wait for 2014, it's just so much more intense.

That's merely because the fans care more. As far as the product, it's the same, if not BETTER from the Women. That is, when good teams face off. Sadly there's just not enough great talent, and I think that has to do with women's status in other areas of the world, plenty of talent probably sitting at home birthing children, etc. because it's just not part of their culture. Personally, I think the women's game is faster. Which I like, because although it's often better if you slow the game down, it can get a bit boring while they play keep away. The biggest reason I enjoy the women's game more (other than being a woman and the US team being better than our men's) is because for the most part, they don't dive as much.

in a related story... how far will canada fall after their shitstorm of a tourney?

they should still be top 10 ... theyve accumulated enough fifa points to stay there ... its not men's soccer where you lose 3 games in a row and you drop 25 spots

I'd like to disagree with you, but I can't.

I might have to add Pix to my bored post count tallies.

Speaking of which, I think I'll present one tonight.

And I've given up on the ions. I'll just let the nozzle run for a couple more hours and get more ions in the time of flight tube, and then check again. I think I'll do some image analysis now.

Women's soccer and women's tennis are the two sports I actually enjoy the women's game just as much if not more than the men's game.

The women typically don't roll around on the ground like the men do (except Brazil apparently). Nobody did that crap when I grew up playing and I find it disgusting.

I agree... It's just the intensity and coverage I guess of the mens tourney that is more intriguing to me. As far as talent goes, I dont put one ahead of the other. It is very fun to watch the women as well.

And yes, diving is much worse in mens soccer.

It's her eyes/lips that do it for me. Such a pretty face.

I take back my talent comment, there is more dazzling plays in mens play. but the women put in a lot of effort as well.
