Athletic talent comes more naturally to men, just a fact of nature. But with soccer, the game is much more enjoyable to watch. I just wish they got the same coverage and intense fan support. If they did it'd be ridiculous. Do the men have more athletic ability? Yes. But I still think the women's game is more fun to watch.
That's merely because the fans care more. As far as the product, it's the same, if not BETTER from the Women. That is, when good teams face off. Sadly there's just not enough great talent, and I think that has to do with women's status in other areas of the world, plenty of talent probably sitting at home birthing children, etc. because it's just not part of their culture. Personally, I think the women's game is faster. Which I like, because although it's often better if you slow the game down, it can get a bit boring while they play keep away. The biggest reason I enjoy the women's game more (other than being a woman and the US team being better than our men's) is because for the most part, they don't dive as much.
I'd like to disagree with you, but I can't.

I think P66 is right about the women's game having more "attacking" as well. They are going at the goal more often and the difference in talent between the top players and the worst player probably has a larger disparity than the men's game. This all equals more goals, more excitement. I'm not opposed to a solid 1-0 game, but often in men's soccer, it just kind of ends once it reaches that point. I think we've seen in the last two U.S. games that there is still more game to be played. And I find that MUCH more enjoyable than the men's game.
Good posts, Pix.
I think it has more to do with the mens soccer teams putting their "talismen" on defense. To generalize, defensive players in mens soccer can overmatch forwards with their physical advantage ... womens soccer doesnt have that if you ask me and you saw it on display today with Frances inability to mark effectively
Eris is another one, I remember...
