I've gotta get up extra early, so I'm logging out now and going to go read a book and try to relax and unwind a bit. Might be back, we'll see

May I recommend "How To Relax And Unwind" by Ignatius J. Reilly

You're not mad at the fact that I blamed you for our country's problems? All of them? Every one of them? It doesn't upset you that I said they're all entirely, 100% your fault?

And what's up losers? :)

I passed PChem! :thumb:

I'm too young to have voted all of them into power.

And everyone I vote for...end up losing in the election. :L

And Congrats!

I only ever cast one ballot. Chuck Baldwin for president.

He got 0% of the votes.

And thanks. :)

.

yes, I must have rewound that scene three times to catch the nuances (and the stuff I missed b/c I was laughing too hard the first time through)

going another direction, I just love Sandra Boynton

hippos.jpg

One hippo all alone
Calls two hippos on the phone
Three hippos at the door
Bring along another four
Five hippos come overdressed
Six hippos show up with a guest
Seven hippos arrive in a sack
Eight hippos sneak in the back
Nine hippos come to work
ALL THE HIPPOS GO BERSERK!!!

All through the hippo night
Hippos play with great delight
But at the hippo break of day
The hippos all must go away
Nine hippos and a beast
Join eight hippos riding east
Seven hippos headed west
Leave six hippos quite distressed
Five hippos then set forth
With four hippos headed north
Three hippos say "Good day!"
The last two hippos go their way
One hippo, alone once more,
Misses the other forty-four

Hold on, numbers boy. Even I know that if 1 vote was cast, the result can never be 0%.

Well, percentages are approximations, so my one vote was negligible.

Also, the Pirates look good tonight, They're up 5-0 on the Giants.

So they get swept by the Cubs and Padres, then go up 5-0 on the defending World Series champions...

Interesting...

The Pirates baffle me. Maybe they just needed a roadtrip. The amazing thing? 10 game losing streak, haven't had a day off in weeks, NO break on a trip between Pitt and San Fran...and they're winning.

Maybe they just decided to turn it around tonight. I think a lot of their 10-game losing streak was the product of fatigue, though. They didn't have any days off for 11 days or something like that entering the Braves' series, had a 19-inning game, another game in extras, then had to play the Phillies. They were probably just gassed by the time they came home.

Maybe getting out to San Francisco feels like a vacation, and they're relaxing, but they seriously need a day off. The schedule makers have not been kind to the Pirates.

Not at all. They've bunched together long stretches of REALLY good teams and pretty bad ones. It's better to mix those up...helps confidence a lot more.

It's not just who they play. It's how long their streaks of games with no days off are. Then they get three days off in two weeks or something. Play every day for a month, then play every other day the next. They can't get into a rhythm because they're either exhausted or not playing every other day.

Maybe I just didn't notice it before because they always sucked, but this is the weirdest scheduling I can recall in a baseball season.
