The Pirates inked Kevin Correia to a two-year, $8 million deal. This means that the Olsen signing is likely just emergency depth, and I'm okay with that. Correia's worth the risk on this contract, only one year removed from a pretty good season. I still have my fingers crossed for Diaz, Reynolds, and/or Ordonez, as well as a deal for Hardy.
The Pirates have inked Matt Diaz to a two-year deal. He'll likely platoon with Doumit in right field. Me likey, given their splits. That's an .850+ OPS in right.
Indeed. Now I hope they deal Doumit and sign an everyday first baseman. A platoon of Jones and Diaz in right would please me a lot more than one of Doumit and Diaz. I'd target Mark Reynolds from the Diamondbacks with a low-risk trade.
