Unlike the bed, the couch is a free for all.

So me and my Brother are bullshiting about the Canucks and trade deadline day with the side door open, my room faces the side door depending on where i am seated (Desk).

Suddenly I see a flash infront. Sean, who is a father of two, said his dad sense kicked in.

Teya attempted her first escape today but couldn't get past the front step.

Our cats show no desire to get out. They are both rescues and seem to be perfectly happy to be inside. The screen porch is enough for them. They're both chipped, just in case, but they only go out for routine vet appointments.

We had Snowflake out in a harness when she was younger. She didn't like being out, and was always looking in the windows and scratching at the door to get back in.

Today we had to say goodbye to our beautiful boy.

Lymphoma. And though it was for the best, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.

Sorry to hear that.

We had to let our older cat go last year. She was 14, and pretty suddenly developed kidney failure.

When she was gone, the other cat and even the dog mourned her. We hadn't planned on getting another cat right away, but it was the right thing to do.

Yeah, he would have been 14 in April. The vet said that we could have tried chemo, but that at his age there was a good chance he wouldn’t survive the chemo. So we didn’t want him to go thru that.

We did it at home and we have two other dogs. The one is puppy my wife got a few weeks ago before we knew about the lymphoma. She didn’t really seem to notice anything. But the other dog who we’ve had for about 4 years definitely knew he was losing his buddy. He just laid right next to him during whole ordeal. Was both beautiful and sad to watch.

Hey everyone meet Tyson we just rescued him from a family that has kept him outside in the cold for most of his life so the family released him to us, to our rescue and now we're going to find him a home and he's going to live a nice comfortable life. he's 9 years old and just the sweetest boy. when we went to pick him up they had him outside in minus five weather (celsius), no cover no nothing but just a bed out in the open. he's just happy to be sitting by the fire. Tyson will be going to a foster home tomorrow until we can find him a permanent home and he's going to be well looked after and live the rest of his days in comfort and hopefully they'll be many years for him...

Our new used cat. Owners died and the vet knew we lost our previous Maine Coon after 16+ years.
She is tiny for us, only 12 lbs lol.
Thank you for adopting an older cat. We're kind of maxed out in a small place with two cats and a dog. There's a pair of two Siamese sisters at the pet shop. Their home got repossessed. We talked about it, but it's not something we can manage in our space.

We have lots of space but the missus has "feelings" on how much is enough.

In a month we will have my daughters 2 cats with us for 2 weeks as she heads off the Hawaii on the boss for getting her MBA.

She can have Hawaii, I want her cats... One frolics with my boys, the other is a chicken kitty and stays in the room. I've never had a cat be standoffish with me like her.

3 out of 4 ain't bad though.

Happy 2 year Gotcha Day to my Lando. He was going to be euthanized as some of his original owner neighbours said he was dangerous. The SPCA felt he wasn't and asked our rescue to take him on. He's been the sweetest boy and has never shown an ounce of aggression..

Not a pet but another denizen of my back 40. Hit my living room window (which faces back) with a huge boom.

Indy went ballistic and came racing downstairs to see up close and personal. Lived to fly away.

Yeah, when I bought a house, I had a string of big windows on the back. A hawk flow into one, and I heard the thump and found the poor bird with a broken neck outside. I went out and bought a bunch of hanging plants and hung them in the window. I couldn't save that poor bird, but I never lost another one.

Damn. 40 years ago and I still remember that sad, but dead, bird. OK, I'm just an old softie.

We had a flicker hit the window head on once. Flickers and woodpeckers are made for contact in the beak area. Sort of shock absorbed.

He bounced up and flew away in a couple of minutes. This guy took a while, the whole time the cats were in the bedroom window above him doing that cat thing they do with their mouths.

Our back yard is wildish with lots of trees so reflected back in the windows it looks like wilderness too.
