OT: I love my pet

My border collie, Ganon, turned 1 year old today. Although he's pure, he's got some unique border collie characteristics... he's got curly hair on his back and for some reason he loves to keep his right ear up and his left ear down.

I plan to train him to play goalie soon. He has lightning-quick reflexes, a good vertical and loves catching & stopping balls, so I intend on firing tennis balls at him in font of my 4x6. If we get it going well, I'll post a video of it later in the spring or summer.

Growing up, my buddy had a lab who was a great goalie.
That dog would stay in the net for hours on end. No fear.

I love my 15 year old Shiba Inu named Kito to pieces. He's losing his eyesight, I have to spend my entire lunch break driving home to "hope" to catch him before he pees on the carpet, and he sleeps all day otherwise, but I can't imagine not having him around. I know the day is coming, but I block that out as best I can.

One year ago I was having dinner with some wonderful friends tonight and their daughter comes and grabs my hand and says I have a surprise. She takes me to show me her new bunk bed and she is very proud. I see her art on the wall and tell her I love them all and she asks what my favourites are and I tell her the one that is her selfie, the puppy one and the family one. She says the puppy one has a name, I ask what it was and she says
Han... I just go silent (no tears, no tears, no tears, you can handle this)
I hug her and tell her that means so much, she smiles and waddles back into the kitchen like a penguin... I follow suit making the best penguin I can be. Han died 2 years ago I miss him so much

you should bring a dog or five to the Canadians 'dog days of summer' game next year,
didn't stay to the end this year so i don't know the tally, but last year there were about 350 dogs there,
