I was at a bar tonight (shocker!) and some people were claiming it was no big deal because of how bad the A's are. I thought that was ridiculous but didn't really argue. Partially because it would have done no good and mainly because they were from a brewery and I wanted free stuff.
In 25 games or so Fred will make as much money as McDavid does over 82 games and I watched Fred miss about 200 open threes in the last two months of the season before he got taunted by an 8 year old and lost a play in game.
Orioles have a Chris Davis day too. And yeah, in retrospect of course it's a terrible deal. But with the reputation they had then they could not let him go.
