6-0 in the 5th. The Braves are so close lets hope an Atlanta team doesn't blow it this time.
Really happy for him.Freeman might have just put the nail in the coffin.
I am hoping that the Braves won with the most ex-Pirates on their roster, that it finally breaks the curse. Maybe, just maybe the Pirates will win a playoff series (NOTE: they haven't won one since 1979).Really glad the Jays got rid of Anthopoulos, that guy was never going to win anything.
Seriously if Coppolella didn't cheat and get kicked out of baseball the Braves wouldn't have hired Anthopoulos to get to this point.Really glad the Jays got rid of Anthopoulos, that guy was never going to win anything.
He also left the Jays with most of the core of today's competitive team despite the Jays being competitive for two years at the end of his tenure and moving a bunch of assets for deadline acquisitions and upgrades (something he worked to perfection this season with the Braves).Seriously if Coppolella didn't cheat and get kicked out of baseball the Braves wouldn't have hired Anthopoulos to get to this point.
Granted the MLB roster was looking good when he took over, but the Braves were stripped of prospects and over 16 million in signing bonus money. That put him at a disadvantage with trade chips to turn the team into a winner that quick.
Geez this got me looking and seriously the last competent GM in Pittsburgh might have been either Joe Brown (1956-1976) , Branch Rickey (1951-1956) or possibly Hardy Peterson (1979-1985).He also left the Jays with most of the core of today's competitive team despite the Jays being competitive for two years at the end of his tenure and moving a bunch of assets for deadline acquisitions and upgrades (something he worked to perfection this season with the Braves).
All because Fat Fucking Eddie wanted Shapiro who hasn't won fuck all in 20 years as an executive to be his team president.
Well the Jays fired him too IIRC so you should be good lolGeez this got me looking and seriously the last competent GM in Pittsburgh might have been either Joe Brown (1956-1976) , Branch Rickey (1951-1956) or possibly Hardy Peterson (1979-1985).
Really can't say much about Cherington yet, but since the mid-80's he might be the most competent GM they had.
