This article is a piece of garbage that is so insensitive and off point it is laughable. Please, if you have the time, contact the editor and complain, as it is the only way to stop complete falsehoods like this from being put out into the public domain. How this man actually collects a paycheck from the NYP is beyond me.

The article attacks the Virginia Tech uniforms as "gang related and violence inducing" when in fact, they are a tribute to the Corps of Cadets. In addition, he blatantly lies about the arrest record of Virginia Tech football as TWO players have in fact been arrested in the past 5 years, both of which were kicked off the team and lost their scholarships. One player, Zach Luckett, did return to the team a year later and earned a walk-on spot.

I mean, this seems like a damn good cause to me. As for their relationship with Nike, every major college program has some sort of apparel and merchandise partner. It is what it is.

I do not read any newspapers aside from the WSJ, PTR and WaPo, so I do not know the credibility of the NYP. However to just be outright incorrect on all assumptions, and prey on a massacre of 32 people just to get a reaction is pretty awful.
