Once humans hit the world, a huge part of its history was either war or the direct implications of war.

It goes all the way back too. Trojan wars, Persian Empire, Genghis Khan, Conquistadores, civil wars all over the place, the Crusades, and pretty much the entire 20th century.

We're an inherently violent species.
