Do Your Job!
I have a job offer in Maine. Do I want to live there? I have not been there since I was a kid.
Tell me what you can, thanks.

Just finished the interview. It's too late here to be poked and prodded. I have been the interviewer most of my life. I'm not sure I'm emotionally made for some middle management shit to ask me a bunch of questions.......Personally, I like warm weather. A few things I do miss about MA and New England but I wouldn't want to live up there again. Good luck Southie!!
Heroin has become rampant in NH and MA. Over two hundred OD deaths in the past year and half. Doesn't appear to have made a big push to Maine or Vt.
Not here. There is almost no crime here. I don't lock my car or my house. I have valuable stuff sitting open to a busy street......Gov. Shumlin (VT) made a public announcement a few years ago that there was a heroin epidemic in VT. I read the papers there, online, and every day there is something about heroin or prescription painkillers. Yes, opiates are a problem all through New England.
But where are they not.

Thank you guys. I had a good interview so it looks like I'll have to make a decision. I don't want to leave Okinawa right now but there is a limit by regs how long I can stay.
I learned to swim as 4yo in a granite quarry in Gloucester. It was 200 feet deep or deeper and you could see way down there.
The job would be a very interesting one and I'm paid well. Living in the low cost of living area is a plus. I love heat and I don't miss the snow. Maybe a snowmobile would change that?
Some have mentioned drug problems in Maine. Is Augusta having probs? Or is that just NE in general?????
