@McMurphyCBS: Arizona State AD: What we sought in a football coach was someone who would be in it for the long term at Arizona State

Sounds like he may get sued now for breach of contract...he called Steve Pedersen for permission to talk to ASU, was denied, and resigned 3 hours later.

Are y'all going to get out of your BE contract and join the ACC next year or what?

BE won't let that happen. They're gonna bring down WVU for trying to start Big XII next year. I wish though...complete fresh start would be great.

Pix,

Voitik(sp) is solid to Pitt. No worries right now.

Amen to that. This Recruit class is impressing me A LOT. It's a good class and they're sticking together very well. Impressive from a group of high schoolers.

and everyone outside of Pittsburgh says..

meh

who?

Yeah, I didn't expect to many people to be privy to the situation. Just know it's Bobby Pitrino all over.

aaaaaaand... that doesn't help

Haha, well, in Bobby's case: was the head coach of the Falcons in 2007 (that's a guesstimate) and left the team with 4 games left in the season by leaving them a note in the lockerroom and bolting. Graham emailed an assistant to text the players his resignation, gave them some BS about it being for his family (which is partially true, his in-laws are in AZ), even though he had a 5 year contact at Pitt, had told his players not to worry about him leaving, had lied to them all season about the future, etc. etc. He basically fled town without permission to even talk to AZSt. I just don't understand how that's allowed. A guy has a 5 year contract with a team/school, then HE puts out feelers to other jobs (sources say he reached out to Kansas and Texas A&M as well as AZSt), THEN he calls Pitts AD to ask permission to talk, is denied, so he just resigns 3 hours later and gets a new job within 12 hours. BUH. Anyway, I've moved on. We're gonna find a better coach. In fact:

GO GO GO!!! Fully support that choice if true.

He was not on the short list, that Pitt has given to their exploratory committee, FWIW. It is looking like it will be Paul Rhoads or Teryl Austin. Foster would be a good fit, but it would cost a lot. he has a 1mil annuity at Tech, should he stay three more years.

Also that Dinich quote is from last year before he interviewed initially. You should never believe a word she says. She is just terrible, like Eklund terrible. I will let you know what comes out with Foster as it comes down. He has been on the road recruiting and the players have 6 practices in the next 7 days for the Sugar Bowl so he will be asked. i will report back. I don't think Pitt is pursuing him hard though, but they should.

Thanks for the info. I'd be okay with Austin honestly, but I'd prefer Bud Foster over most of the current candidates. Bradley isn't happening (praise Jesus), neither is Sunseri (Hallelujah), but Rhoads seems to be leading the pack. Which is okay I suppose, not the flashy pick for sure. Austin is *likely* more dependable as an actual "Pitt man". Seems like Mullen isn't being considered, which is too bad. I don't know enough about Cristobal, but he was pretty high on the list too.

**Another reason I'd prefer Bud is that he's in the ACC. We need that.

I will let you know what I hear, but Bud would have more likely made the jump last year. I am not sure how he would feel about coaching against his old team every year (Pitt is slated to join the Coastal division of the ACC).

Apparently more bad Pitt news is coming down the pipe, this time involving the Bball team. No idea what it is yet, but Tray Woodall mentioned it this morning, and some guys with connections that have been trying to get to the bottom of it haven't discovered what it is yet...just saying they've heard it's not good news. COMMMMMEEEEAHHHHHHNNN. *steams*
