doesnt have to be Sports Related, can be anything what was your best moment of 2010.

Im thinking for Mooger and Hawaiian Fan it was the arrival of their little 'uns

For me it was the fact that my wife has stuck with me for 4 years now......

wow... 4 years..... that is like a record or something... Im kidding.

it was that my wife and I were able to help rescue over 90 homeless boxers from Los Angeles. Some from Dog Fighting rings, some from foreclosures and some from some really stupid people. but they got new homes.

whats yours?

- getting the kid into our private school of choice (she looks soooo damned cute in her uniform)
- getting a new niece, but I haven't met her yet
- Canada wins gold!!
- Canucks get a 3rd line, and a couple of solid d-men.

Highlights for me.. getting laid off and collecting unemployment, working cash side jobs to double my income! Being able to spend more time with my family! The arrival of my 2nd daughter!! So many things to be stoked on!

my favorite moment of 2010 was when I purchased 66000 shares of a stock at 7.5 cents in my TFSA (its at $0.86 cents today - :D)

accomplishment wise ... I finished the basement ... I dont know what Im gonna do with myself in 2011 ... anybody wanna buy some tools? lol

sportswise, Ill never forget anything about the Olympics ... my fave game was Russia Canada ... watched it again yesterday (got the Hockey Gold dvd set from wife for xmas because she pvr'ed over the games with The Bachelor)

fave moment was watching the prelim game loss to the US outside the Molson tent on the big screen waiting for it to end to get into the Sweden Finland game .... some US fans were saying it was the best moment of their lives ... everyone behaved and know one smacked each other in the jaw ... I cant pick watching the gold medal victory because I was watching it from a hospital emergency room after my dad had a TIA that morning

wishing everyone a happy healthy 2011

Favourite moment...

Yup, as Mattola mentioned, the birth of my little girl. Can't top that...

For sports, Olympics as a whole. Canadian pride in full effect!

Sportswise for me, it's gotta be the Detroit Lions. The league fucking screwed them in the 1st game of the year, they haven't had a single one of their three QBs start more than 3 games in a row, they were the Detroit Lions, and yet they've turned a hopeless, no-one-even-knows-where-to-start-with-them 0-16 team two years ago to a 5-win team this year, with good chances for a 6th on Sunday.

Personal, seeing my brother get clean. Very happy about that! Sportswise, so far, it's Oregon's run to the title game and being a part of Spokane's ArenaBowl championship. Nucks need to keep the momentum going!

Sports wise - as mentioned, the Winter Olympics - Had a great 3 days in Vancouver and celebrated with the rest of Canada the gold medal victory in overtime.

Personally, it happened just recently, I quit one job due to the fact that I was successful in landing another job. However, it does come at a cost, as I will be spending less time on the SportsHoopla (at least Monday - Friday anyways).

Edit: I'll be working in Burnaby, by the way, so maybe I can hook up with jstew, mattola, and puck as some point in 2011.

I'll be commuting from the island...I've done this for several years previously over much greater distances, so the family (especially the wife) is used to it. It helps in some ways that my girls are a little older now as well.

All in all 2010 was a good year for me. I survived a round of layoffs and then the company rebounded and appears to be in good shape. After years of talking about it, and waiting for my brother and his girlfriend to stop having babies, we finally left them behind and went on a cruise with my mother. It was a nice time. Another nephew born.

Sports-wise the Canadiens improbable run was nice and really shortened their offseason. Maxim being traded to the Ducks is right up there. Can they take Pouliot too?

My happy moment is that the Sabres were sold to a guy with deep pockets, loves the game and the city. Maybe there is hope for a long suffering fan base.

We can only hope.
