I can only imagine how gorgeous the lakes are where you live...
my weekend looks very similar to yours.
loaded up on bookshelves and a desk for my kid (hurray for Ikea!), so we can set up an area for her to keep all of her crap. Hopefully that means we can regain some of the rest of the house for our crap.
Would moving my baby sister into her dorm room count?
Im finally gonna finish tiling the laundry (actually i still gotta grout after that ... fracK its neverending) ... i had a hell of a time finding someone to clean edge cut 3 - 18 x 18 porcelein tiles that are right at a door threshhold butted up against carpet ... didnt want to rent a wet saw because the pieces of junk that cost $50 for 4 hours vibrate like hell and dont result in a clean cut ... walked in the loading area of the place i bought the tiles at and they said they wouldnt do it because of liability issues as I watched some dude slicing through a huge slab of granite while wearing shorts & flip flops (lol)
they told me about companies that do water-jet cutting which i knew nothing about ... almost makes me want to get one to put in the garage and start a small business ... niche market - lol
I use a score cutter.(I have a wet saw too) It makes a cut with a wheel blade (like a copper pipe cutter) and has a big handle you pull down and it snaps it cleanly.
A lot of times I end up using a grinder with a diamond blade.
I might purchase a kayak tomorrow and take it out on the lake on Sunday...
yah i used a grinder with a diamond blade for all my outside cuts and it was perfect ... I didnt want to rent a wet saw for those because of the cost and also when i tiled our kitchen i hated the experience (getting drenched)
but i really had no alternatives for these 3 tiles that are gonna be right at the door threshhold ... I have a score cutter but it only does up to 16 inch tiles and you never really get a perfect edge
this water-jet machine will basically replicate what amounts to a factory edge using CAD software ... they usually are used for tile inlays and intricate shaped cuts ... keeping with the theme in this thread, i called the guy and he said he'd do these 3 straight cuts for a case of beer
That really sounds fun. I haven't been kayaking in probably 5 years now. Gotta do that again sometime soon.
In other news I have the backyard mowed. Got another hour or so to get the front done and it's off to the big game. And now one of my cats is in front of the monitor so if I have any typos I can't see them.
If you need someone to keep the kids off of that fresh cut lawn just give me a holla, I'm your man.
And mine is even more similar to yours...can barely even walk in my daughter's room (and spillover to our living room). She's 7, almost 8, and still has toys that she had when she was a toddler. We are doing a marathon cleaning/organizing/convincing her to get rid of enough stuff to make room for it all and reclaim living/walking spacemy weekend looks very similar to yours.

And I love Ikea too.
