lol... I dont know how familiar you are with newer bands, but I saw Unearth from Mass at Toads back in like 2000, got roundhouse kicked right in the nose... I couldn't help it, I punched the kid right in the side of the head and he took off. I wasn't in the pit or near it for that matter. He was just bouncing around like a turd... pissed me off.

Not even a little

Don't have a lot of stuff made after the mid-nineties.

No interest, really.

Happens when you get old. Exploring new music just isn't that important.

I prefer to live in the past.

It's sad, I know.

Bizzle and I had a few music discussions back at the Swamp. I'm a bit more new school like yourself Jeff and I couldn't draw Bizzle out of his timewarp :p

I don't go to too many shows these days either (makes me feel old), but I did get to a show a couple weeks ago and remembered why I never do. Same crap you guys are talking about with people hitting random people and people who didn't have the balls to get into the real pit hitting everybody 40 feet back from the stage.

Annoying.

Yea, it is very annoying. I still enjoy live music, however I find that a lot of bands I enjoy on cd are horrible live... and if I see a band thats horrible live, I dont listen to them anymore. So I try to just see bands that have good reviews live. Im going to see Deftones and Dillinger Escape Plan in May. I love DEP.

Depends on the band for me with a bad live band. Some of them, their style just isn't really conducive to a good live show, so I don't hold it against them.

I still enjoy the live shows too, but I'm not so big on the idea of getting punched in the face (I wear glasses, so I try to stay away from pits) or having some fat sweaty dude with no shirt on rub all over me.

The show I went to a month or so ago was the first in about 2 1/2 years for me, and I was amazed too by the number of idiots who videotaped the entire show on their phones.

lol exactly... your there for the experience. if you cant remember it in your head and you need to videotape, save your money, and go buy a live dvd, cause its always shit on your phone. Dillinger Escape Plan is an insanely technical math core band, and they are great live. really looking forward to that show. Veil of Maya is also a great band... keep in mind these bands are real heavy, not sure what your style is.
